About Gneuss Measurement Technology

Gneuss Melt pressure sensors and Temperature sensors are characterized by their extremely high precision combined with a high degree of robustness.

The standard Gneuss transducers are compatible and therefore interchangeable with standard types. Gneuss offers a “made to measure” service for custom made sensors for many applications with fast lead times. Our products are also successfully used in the food industry, e.g. in cereal, dough and pet food production.

Advantages

Long life High quality Quick delivery Superior value Mercury-free sensors available Custom-built sensors Repair program

Gneuss Melt Pressure Transducers operate on the proven principle of strain gauge technology. The pressure is transferred from the measuring diaphragm (which is flush with the melt channel) via a capillary system to a second diaphragm. The capillary system is filled either with mercury or with a mercury-free medium. The second diaphragm is fitted with a strain gauge. Using the linear change in resistance in relation to deflection, an electric output signal is provided. The special membrane technology guarantees a very long operating life, even under the toughest conditions. The anti-adhesion coating reduces the risk of damage caused by frozen plastic melts.

The monitoring of Polymer Melt Temperature is crucial to most processes. The Gneuss range of Melt Temperature Sensors feature proven thermocouple or resistance temperature measurement systems in a high precision but robust sensor. The Fe-CuNi (type J or L) thermocouples which generate a Voltage when heated are well established in the industry due to their advantages thanks to the high Seebeck coefficient. For such applications, type K thermocouples are also available (NiCr-Ni). Additionally, Gneuss also offers resistance temperature sensors type PT100 (2, 3 or 4 – wire). The temperature – dependent resistance has a value of 100 Ohm at 0°C which changes with increasing temperature. Conform to EUROMAP 31

Gneuss also offer various accessories such as connecting cables and plugs, bushing adaptors, bush fitting tools ,bore cleaning tools.
