MAS was founded in 2006 by Ing. Helmuth Schulz who has more than 40 years of experience in the building of machines for the plastics industry and owns numerous patents in this field. MAS specialises in machines and equipment for plastics recycling and processing and has a reputation in this sector for innovative solutions and best-of-class process technology competence. 
MAS's across-the-board portfolio includes planning, designing, manufacturing and distribution of plastics processing machines and equipment for recycling, refinement and extrusion of plastics/composites. MAS's core competences are:

• Dry recycling of used plastics based on the innovative DRD System (Double Rotor Disc)

• Processing of plastics/composites in the world's first, conical, co-rotating twin screw extruder from MAS

DRD Dry cleaning systems, below is a DRD26, single step


DRD (Double Rotor Disc) technology combines a cleaning centrifuge and thermo-mechanical drying in a single plant. This enables a clean, dry process that is easy on the material and produces consistently high end product quality. DRD is a unique technology that washes without water, thus representing a sustainable solution for plastics recycling:

• Drying and cleaning in a single step

• In comparison with legacy washing systems, less than 50 % cost

• Water treatment system not required

• Simple operations, low maintenance effort

• Fully automated machine control


MAS Extruder


MAS' technology is based on a conical, co-rotating twin screw extruder. The excellent process engineering characteristics of MAS-extruders are achieved first and foremost by the high disposable volume and high coverage of the co-rotating screw shaft. Due to the conical design the intake volume is significantly greater than the discharge volume, resulting in an extremely high screw filling level. This leads to high volume throughput per revolution with excellent melt pressure stability and at the lowest possible melt temperature.

The technology benefits:

• large input volumes and thus excellent feeding characteristic

• high melt pressure build-up and maximum pressure stability, thus removing the need for a melt pump in most cases

• large shaft diameters allow for high torque

• easy removal of the screw via the rear of the extruder

• excellent homogenisation characteristics

• excellent feeding behaviour results in a short melt retention time in the extruder at low melt temperature

• extremely low specific energy consumption
