John Wood
Founder
John was the founder of the company and held a vast amount of experience and knowledge in the processing engineering industry. A former Royal Engineer for many years and successful agent and agency developer since 1972. John commanded a tremendous amount of respect in industry due to his wealth of experience and depth of knowledge. He sadly passed away in March 2021 but his legacy lives on.
Julian Wood
Managing Director
Julian, son of John has been working in technical engineering and sales for about 30 years. After working for a manufacturing specialist in the pipe coiling industry, he then relocated oversees spending time in both Denmark and Norway where he became an invaluable service and technical specialist while developing a fluency in a multitude of languages. His analytical mind and tenacity for problem solving has made him a valuable asset to the organisation while also possessing exemplary communication and sales expertise from a number of years in sales of the products he’d become an expert in.

Sue Oldham
Administrative Director
Sue, daughter of John joined the family business and manages the administration, accounting and general day-to-day operations. Furthermore, she works closely with our sales and service department to ensure the smooth running of our operations. Sue’s background is extremely diverse, from previously running her own mechanical engineering and vehicle sales business. For that reason, Sue has become an integral part of the organisation here at JWA.

Sam Wood
Marketing Manager / Control Systems Engineer
Sam, grandson of John and 3rd generation to join the business, brings with him a diverse set of skills and knowledge. Having graduated Sheffield Hallam University with a 2:1 in BEng Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Sam worked in systems engineering. Developing experience and knowledge in programming bespoke control, test & measurement systems for a variety of industries. He then returned to university and achieved a distinction in MSc International Business Management. Sam’s dynamic blend of engineering knowledge and business & marketing expertise has injected a fresh, modern emphasis on developing the company on to further success.

Andy Evans
Managing Director – AV Control Systems
Andy possesses a tremendous amount of engineering experience from his beginnings as an electrician, before moving on to work for German motor control company Klockner-Moeller. During his time there he gained a solid understanding and grounding in all variations of motor starters and control. In 2006, Andy went independent and started AV Control Systems to provide bespoke panel build and automation solutions to his clients all around the world. Andy and his firms reputation for developing quality, reliable systems has rightly earned him praise for the quality work offered but also developed his international business including commissioned systems in Australia, South Korea and Switzerland to name a few. If you need to know anything about inverter drives, closed transition star deltas to Dahlander motors, Andy is your man.
