BIG IN SIZE REDUCTION
Fine grinding of plastics – not all powders are created equal
The demand for fine powders made from heat-sensitive materials and thermoplastics such as LLDPE, LDPE, HDPE, PP, EVA, H-PVC, rubber, PA and ABS is constantly growing. Pallmann pulverisers and disc mills reliably produce high-quality plastic powders for
- Rotational molding
- Production of masterbatch
- Fluid sintering
- Coarse and fine textile finishing
- A wide variety of coatings
- Extrusion
The ever-increasing quality requirements regarding flowability, bulk density, particle size distribution, and particle structure require state-of-the-art pulverizing systems that meet these requirements. This facilitates efficient further processing in complex rotational molds, coating, and pipe and profile extrusion. We supply sophisticated, integrated solutions with pulverizing and disc mills, developed in practice for practical applications.
New mill housings and easy-to-clean systems enable quick and thorough cleaning during product or color changes in masterbatch production. Individually replaceable grinding elements and convenient grinding gap adjustment provide high flexibility in production and allow for rapid adaptation of the particle shape to the powder’s intended use.
Standard systems are available for a wide range of applications. With add-on packages and a wide range of options, the systems can be easily adapted to individual requirements. The standard program meets market demands for a complete range of pulverizing systems with capacities up to 1500 kg/h.
For fully automated, around-the-clock operation, we offer fine grinding systems with specially developed controls. Temperature and power consumption sensors record the measured values and regulate the system according to specified parameters.

Rotomoulding with Pallmann PolyGrinder PKM
Pallmann fine grinding systems for the rotational molding industry with integrated disc mills enable the fine grinding of thermoplastic granules into fine powders with final grain sizes between 0.15 and 0.50 mm. The grinding takes place at ambient temperature, eliminating the need for the addition of coolant or water. The resulting good flowability and high bulk density are the prerequisites for optimal distribution within the rotational mold. The quality of the produced plastic powders meets the requirements defined in DIN 53492 and ASTM D 1895.
